the choice of faith

The Choice of Faith | Hebrews 11:23-28

Choice is something we all do in life. Some choices have significant consequences. In 1920 the Boston Red Sox sold Babe Ruth to the N Y Yankees. After joining the Yankees in the next 10 out of 12 years Ruth hit more home runs than the entire Boston team! The Red Sox had not won the World Series since 1918 when Ruth was on the team until 2004. Bad choice! Moses made a choice by faith which had far reaching consequences.

What We Have Become In Christ | Ephesians 2

Prejudice, racial tension and hostility are nothing new in our world. We hear and see it in its more overt forms while other situations may be more subtle. The apostle Paul writes about the deep division that existed between Jews and Gentiles. However, he spelled out the good news because of Jesus Christ “alienation has given way to reconciliation, and hostility to peace.” (J.Stott).

When God Seems Far Away

Have you ever had times in your life when God seemed distant? You pray and there is no answer. You read the Bible, but it doesn’t speak to you. The Psalmist David wondered if God had quit being on his side. Yet he wrote Psalm 13 that challenges us to be honest with God or ‘how to gripe in the Spirit’. And to trust in God’s Faithfulness.

God's Final Word

Hebrews 1:1-4 GOD’S FINAL WORD

God spoke in many and various ways in past times, but now God’s final word to us today is His Son, Jesus.

He not only brought the message, He is the message. He is God’s last word and beyond Him nothing need be sought.

Easter Sunday service was over. A lady, expressing the perplexity she was feeling, asked, “Pastor, can you help me make sense of the resurrection? I just can’t understand how Christ rose from the dead; and, really does it make any difference after all?” He replied, “Nobody knows if He actually did rise from the dead. Personally, I don’t believe He did. After all, as you say, it doesn’t make any difference.”
What if Jesus didn’t rise from the dead? What difference would it make in your life?
